Lost and found

The day before flying into the hills. Met with the Himalayan data base representative in the morning. It’s official now! Even if I never make it out of Kathmandu I’m registered as a climber attempting Mt Everest! After a slow start I got lost in the backstreets. Finished up in Durbar square. Lots of restoration ongoing after the 2015 earthquake. Missed Rava Navami festival by a week oh well. Visited the temple of the living goddess, the Kumari who is a young girl living permantely in the temple until puberty, at which time a successor is chosen. Met a cool guy called Ranjan and ended up having a couple of beers on a rooftop away from the hustle and bustle. Time to finish packing. Early start and hopefully a flight to Lukla in the morning. If planes don’t work plan B is helicopter ! Given that choice you just can’t loose.
