Location, Location, Location. Yesterday we arrived in base camp. Walking along the moraine that flanks the Khumbu glacier the strip of yellow and blue tents that make up EBC never seemed to get any closer. The scale of the peaks and valleys that make up this landscape distort my perception of distance and time. Along the way I keep tripping up due to poor footing because I can’t help but look towards the sky. Once we arrived at the outskirts of EBC it took another 15 min to arrive at our Himalayan Ascent camp site. I can’t lie it is fully catered and has all the mod cons. Particularly impressive as we are now living on the glacier directly opposite the Khumbu Ice Fall. Over the next few days, led by Lama Tenji, we will hold our Puja ceremony. Only after this will we make our first exploration of the ice fall towards camp 1 and the Western Cwm.

Wow. Looks so amazing, just beautiful! It would be a good idea to stop tripping over though ok Graeme? Where are the toilets? Do you have antibacterial wipes or are they frozen? Stay safe. x
Happy Easter Graeme - hope the Easter bunny managed to navigate its way to you. Lots of love from the aunties in sunny Surrey - well at the moment anyway.
