May 10. Keeping the food intake high and took another acclimatization walk today. Shaping up as any other day until we returned to Base Camp. Upon our return we had the latest weather update. Looks like a good window could possibly be opening for the next 4-5 days depending on how far a low pressure system from the south travels northward. The route to the summit from the south Col has not been fixed yet but this should happen inline with the next good weather window.
We have a plan! Just incase the route gets fixed and the favorable weather window eventuates we are going to move to camp 2 tomorrow morning 11 May. I will wait there while Lama Tenjee and Psurwa Sherpa take oxygen bottles to the south Col. Once they return we will have a better idea if the route fixing and the weather will align.
If weather is favorable, the ropes are in place from south Col to summit and we are in good shape we will move up the mountain over the following days and make a summit attempt.
If the weather window does not eventuate or the ropes are not in place we will come back down from camp 2 to base camp and wait for the next window. Either way to maintain my acclimatization I need to go back to a higher altitude in the next few days so camp 2 here we come!!
